In this course, we will help kids and teens learn social skills and we want to cover
the following: verbal and non-verbal communication, feelings, self-control,
relationship building, kindness and respecting others. They will also learn
listening skills like following instructions and reflective listening, finding solutions
and learning from mistakes, standing up for yourself, managing conflict,
manners, and good hygiene. We will practice on the skills and more group
conversation through play and review from the previous classes. Besides having
fun, social skills help them in school and in life to develop a sense of self and
positive social-emotional skills in their environment, able to communicate, handle
their emotions, show respect, and build friendship which can help them to do
better in life, in the classroom and in the community.
Ms. Lyn will be the instructor again of the course. She is currently an
Instructional Assistant in training students from all disability categories including
