This course is a social recreational program for students who either have experience playing marimba or are simply interested in percussion instruments. Students will learn how to play music in a group and develop lasting friendships with each other and with the volunteers.
Group 1: for students with experience playing marimba to improve their musicianship
Group 2: for beginners who have interest in music and want to improve social skills
There will be a talent showcase at the end of the program for both students and volunteers.
Special Note: Students, please bring your own mallets and music stand.
Capacity: 10 for each group
When: Sunday 3:30 - 4:30pm on 2/04/24, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25, 3/03, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24, 4/14, 4/21, 5/19, 5/26
Where: FCSN South Bay center
Who: 14 or older (Please contact the coordinators if you have a younger kid who is interested)
Cost: $180 for 12 workshops
